This Wine 101 video covers many of the basic tips and advice on selecting and serving wines:

• Get to know your local wine and cheese dealers better, and ask for recommendations on a wine theme (e.g. fruity, spicy, etc) for your party, and for them to give you good recommendations on the type of wines and cheese pairings that are best suited to your theme.
• Ideally try to sample wines from 2 different regions in the same party, to allow you to compare and contrast 2 different flavors.
• Have appropriate stemware, wine glasses, decanters, etc.
• Serve wine at the proper temperature, to ensure that you maximize the multi sensory experience of wine tasting.
• Have water on hand to cleanse your palate and keep your guests hydrated.
